TWIST TO EXIST

An installation resulting from material exploration around the themes of distortion and escapism, which are ever-present in my work. I laser cut, bent and printed on mirror to create a warped alternate reality wherever the installation is placed. This translates 2-dimensional distortion into a spatial context, for an immersive, tactile experience.

I used this project as an opportunity to play and learn new techniques within a short time, exploring a wide range of printing techniques including silk, cyanotype and digital printing to create distorted, translucent and layered effects.

Twist to exist - this mirror is designed to distort and warp spaces into new existence. My close-up photographs of this design also visualise my plans to develop it on a much larger scale, such as a spatial installation or feature for set design.
